Ken,

I think we (CDS) will address this by 2 independent actions:

- update Aladin Lite to make it smarter when detecting position columns
- make Hipsgen-cat add the proper metadata (UCD, COOSYS, etc) to help HiPS clients find position columns and know how to interpret them

Cheers,
Thomas

Thanks for your help at the ADASS in Trieste to display
HiPS catalog with aladin-lite.

You have given me the work-around to modify metadata.xml,
so that

<FIELD datatype="double" name="RA" />
<FIELD datatype="double" name="DEC" />

are replace by

<FIELD datatype="double" name="DEC" ucd="pos.eq.dec;meta.main" />
<FIELD datatype="double" name="RA" ucd="pos.eq.ra;meta.main” />

This actually works, but I assume aladin-lite will be modified so that
we do not have to modify metadata.xml. Is this right?

Regards,

Ken

Thomas,

Hmm, this does not work…

I made tiest2.html for mine, mimicing your test1.html.
The catalog is on my local machine.

I will find you to ask questions.

Ken

Dear Ken,
regarding integration in Aladin Lite:
once the progressive ca
talog
has been created and uploaded to a web server, visualizing it in Aladin Lite
is quite easy.

An example is shown on

Thomas, Francois-xanvier and Pierre,
This is Ken Ebisawa from JAXA. I am at the ADASS now.
You might remember that, about a year ago, we had a problem to make a progressive catalog
and display it with Aladin-lite. I understand now the problems were solved.
If you have time, could you please let me remind how to make the progressive catalog
and display it in Aladin-lite (material is in the attachment of the mail)?
Then, when I go back
to
Japan, we can implement new progressive catalogs in JUDO2.

I will be at ADASS till the end, so I hope we can find time.
Regards,
Ken

Pierre and Thomas,
This is Ken Ebisawa at JAXA/ISAS.
It was nice to meet you at ADASS
in
Sydney.

As I have probably told you then, we are going to make
new HiPS catalogs to display in Aladin-lite and JUDO2.
However, we encountered some problems, so we would hope
you might help. Could you take a look at the attache file, case1.tar.gz?
We ran a simple script, case1.sh, the command is,
java -jar Hipsgen-cat.jar -cat SWIFT-BAT -in bat.csv -ra RA -dec DEC -out ./SWIFT-BAT -t "0.0 +0.0" -score SNR > case1.log 2>&1
We wait for a while, but the job does not finish.
Also, the output, SWIFT-BAT does not look correct (Norder4 is missing, for
instance)
We are afraid we may not be using Hipsgen-cat.jar correctly, but we could not
find further information. We would appreciate any help!
Thank you very much in advance.
Regards,
Ken
